3 Brushes With Notoriety
Just a quick video post to document some brushes with notoriety a trio of my Facebook friends have experienced in the last month… things always happen in 3′s, my life’s experience has seen that play out time and again, so when Jeremy posted a YouTube video of himself on CashCab this morning I wasn’t surprised at all. But before we get to that…
I had Jeopardy on a few weeks back as I often do in the afternoon… I was actually emptying the dishwasher when the camera was panning down the row of that days contestants. I swore I recognized one of ‘em and moved to the television for a closer look… turns out it was my neighbor Tony, he ended up lasting 4 days winning 3 times. Very cool, fun to watch.
The second brush was perhaps somewhat larger than a brush as it ended up a top story in the news cycle. Dan Sinker, a college classmate of mine, outed himself the other day to The Atlantic as the author behind the fictitious Twitter account of new Chicago Mayor Rahm Emanuel. He’s been on television and in the papers ever since and is meeting Emanuel in person this afternoon as the Mayor elect promised $5000 to the feed author’s charity if he outed himself… so it’s all history now.
And then this morning Jeremy, a guy I know as the umpire for Sonny and Mike’s annual Grudge Match softball game… as well as a Scrabble champ and a guy who hosts weekly trivia contests at neighborhood bars… posted a video of himself on CashCab Chicago… how much can he win in a 44 block trip, watch and see…
They always come in 3′s… and it’s always so much better when no one has to die.

I was Going to give your ARLO CHANCE site to some of my friends who dabble in Facebook so they could get some heads up on what’s bad or not. They are kind of naive when it comes to clicking on FB things. However, after seeing your lambasting of the GOP in some kind of Poodle movie and your hatred of Glen Beck, I chose not to. I’m declining on promoting any of your ideas or things after seeing the vilifying you chose to do. AS a former Dem/Union guy that now goes to Tea Parties, I find those people much more cool than my former dem union friends. It’s sarcastic, snide “we have the high ground” comments and blogs like yours that turned me off from the liberals. No thanks to optiflux or Arlo, keep your smart ass change.

Hey Peeulosi… sorry to have offended you so profoundly. Truth is, it sounds like you take all that political party stuff pretty seriously… That would make us polar opposites in this regard I suppose. What I know is that once the oil runs out, all such silly discussions are going to be looked back on as an utter waste of time.
